About Doug
Doug Peck (he/they) is a Los Angeles and New York based vocal coach, voice teacher, music director, and pianist.
As a coach and teacher, he has the amazing honor of collaborating with Billie Eilish, Hayley Williams of Paramore, Jesse Rutherford of The Neighborhood, Skylar Astin, Ben Folds, Rashida Jones, Amy Poehler, Jim Rash, Alex Wolff, Nat Wolff, Alexandra Billings, Zosia Mamet, Kate Flannery, Briga Heelan, and Debra Winger, as well as stars and ensemble members of Broadway musicals including: Six, Moulin Rouge, Some Like It Hot, Chicago, Hamilton, Tina, Motown, Shucked, and more.
As a pianist, they appear in concert with artists like Renée Fleming, Heather Headley, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Sutton Foster, Patina Miller, Cheyenne Jackson, Sierra Boggess, Norm Lewis, Michelle Williams (of Destiny’s Child), Jessie Mueller, Andrea McArdle, George Hearn, John Prine, Kristin Chenoweth, André DeShields, Sheryl Lee Ralph, J’Nai Bridges, and Sydney James Harcourt, among many others at venues like the Hollywood Bowl, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Chicago Humanities Festival, and the Auditorium Theatre.
On screen, he served as vocal coach for Kathryn Hahn, Patti LuPone, Joe Locke, Aubrey Plaza, Sasheer Zamata, and Ali Ahn (Agatha All Along), Mae Whitman (Up Here), Jim Carrey (Kidding), Logan Lerman (We Were The Lucky Ones), the entire cast of Dear White People in its musical final season, and as vocal consultant to the animation departments of Moana, Encanto, and Frozen II.
They also created new Indian-jazz fusion arrangements and orchestrations for the stage version of Disney’s The Jungle Book, music supervised the hit off-Broadway musical Ride The Cyclone, conducted Carousel at the Glimmerglass Festival, and co-created the Goodman Theatre’s free Musical Theatre Intensive for high school students who would not otherwise have access to conservatory training.
Doug is a graduate of Northwestern University and is a certified practitioner of Somatic Voicework™️, as taught by its founder and master teacher Jeannette Lovetri, with additional Vocology studies at the National Center for Voice Science under Dr. Ingo Titze. They were an instructor of Voice and Theatre Practice at USC and the Interlochen Arts Academy. He is a happily partnered amateur chef and proud cat dad to Orpheus and Baldwin.
